Every candidate placed through TeachCrest holds a complete, verified compliance file before setting foot in any school. No exceptions, no shortcuts, no compromises.

What We Check

Full KCSiE 2025 compliance on every placement

Our compliance process is built around the latest statutory guidance from the Department for Education. Every check is completed and verified before any candidate is placed.

Enhanced DBS

Every candidate holds a current Enhanced DBS certificate. We recommend Update Service registration for instant re-checks by schools.

QTS and QTLS Verification

Qualified Teacher Status verified through the DfE Employer Access system for every teaching candidate before placement.

Prohibition Check

All teaching candidates are checked against the DfE Prohibition from Teaching list via Teacher Services before any placement.

Right to Work

Full identity verification and right to work checks on every candidate. Original documents verified and copies retained securely on file.

Overseas Police Checks

Required for candidates who have lived outside the UK for 3 or more consecutive months in the preceding 5 years.

Professional References

A minimum of two professional references, including the most recent employer, verified by telephone and held on file.

KCSiE 2025

Our entire process is designed in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education, updated annually to reflect the latest DfE guidance.

UK GDPR Compliant

All candidate and school data is handled lawfully under UK GDPR. ICO registered. Full privacy notices provided to all parties.

TeachCrest operates a zero tolerance policy on incomplete compliance files. No candidate is placed in any school until their file is fully completed and signed off. This is non-negotiable.

Annual Review

Our compliance processes are reviewed annually in line with updated KCSiE guidance from the Department for Education.

Full Documentation

All compliance evidence is stored securely and written confirmation is available to schools on request before every placement.

Ongoing Monitoring

Candidate DBS certificates are monitored via the Update Service where possible to ensure ongoing suitability throughout their time on our register.

School Responsibilities

Your Single Central Record obligations

TeachCrest carries out thorough pre-placement compliance checks on every candidate. However, under KCSiE 2025, the school remains solely responsible for maintaining its own Single Central Record and must add each candidate to the SCR before they commence work on site.

On request, we provide written confirmation that the required compliance checks have been completed for each candidate before every placement.
